Sanctuary Asia is India's first and one of its leading environmental news magazines. It was founded in 1981 by its current editor, the conservationist, Bittu Sahgal as 'Sanctuary' to raise awareness among Indians of their disappearing natural heritage. It became a syndicated publication under the banner of Sanctuary Features. Sanctuary Asia is also directly involved with environmental activism, often running media campaigns for specific conservation causes. Shashank Dalvi was honoured with the Sanctuary Wildlife Service Award 2017.
Dombivali Bird Race is a yearly event organised by the Birds Of Thane & Raigad District (BOTRD). BOTRD was founded by Mr. Prathamesh Desai and Mr. Kiran Kadam in the year 2011. Students from different schools participate in teams and are provided with field guides for helping them to identify and locate various birds. Its not just restricted to students, even adults form teams and participate in this event.
Prakriti is an annual event organised by Bhavan's Nature Adventure Centre (BNAC). Conceptualised by Shree Lalit Shah and Himanshu Joshi, this unique event is a must-attend for every nature lover in Mumbai. It is a three-day long event and attracts more than 10,000 visitors including roughly 4,000 children from nearly a hundred schools. It is an honour for Vannya to be associated with such an event.
Pakshimitra is a mega event, specially organised for bird lovers of Maharashtra. This year, it was organised and conducted in Thane. Vannya was given an opportunity to acknowledge the visitors about the uses of application in the world of birding, being the first one of its kind in India.
